Prof. Dr. Martin E. Kreis
Chief Medical Officer, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin

Dr. Martin E. Kreis is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in clinical practice and academic research. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where he oversees the medical operations of the institution.

Dr. Kreis completed his medical studies at the University of Tübingen in 1993 and subsequently completed his state examination. He began his clinical career as a medical intern at the General Surgery Department/Outpatient Department at Tübingen University Hospital from 1994-1995. He then went on to become a resident physician at the same department from 1995-2001.

During his residency, Dr. Kreis completed a resident rotation in Trauma Surgery at Berufsgenossenschaftliche Unfallklinik Tübingen in 1998-1999 and worked as a resident physician at Städtisches Krankenhaus Sindelfingen, Department for General and Vascular Surgery from 2000-2001. He completed his surgical specialty training in 2001.

Dr. Kreis continued to advance his career as a Senior Physician at Tübingen University Hospital, General Surgery Department/Outpatient Department in 2003, and completed further specialty training in abdominal surgery the same year. He then worked as a Senior Physician at the Department of Surgery, Klinikum Großhadern, LMU Munich from 2004-2012.

In 2012, Dr. Kreis became the W3-Professor and Head of the Department of General, Abdominal and Vascular Surgery at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, CBF. He also served as the Medical Director of CC08 (CharitéCenter for Surgery) from 2018-2020.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kreis has made significant contributions to the medical field and has been recognized for his outstanding achievements. He is a highly respected medical professional and a sought-after expert in his field.
